Patch 1.0.8 Notes

Patch 1.0.8 changes began 12th March 2018, on the Steam version of the game. Updates to the game version were finished once all planned major updates were completed. During 1.0.8, in April 2018, the first DLC for White Pearl was released to Steam - titled "Chronicle Edition" for free. The full DLC cannot be released outside of Steam due to the high file size. However, the updated official guide and manual from Chronicle Edition will be released here as a separate package

The "Game Manual" and "Official Guide" downloads will be removed as a result. These downloads are outdated.

*The updated official game manual and guide downloads are already available on the rpgmaker.net release.

[SO] = Steam Only. Means that the bug (or change) was only present on the Steam version of the game, and is meaningless to players who download White Pearl outside of Steam - as the fix (or change) would already be effective in this patch.

Release date and where:

Patch 1.0.8 will be releasing to itch.io and rpgmaker.net, on the 23rd of May 2018, late GMT time.

The final updates to 1.0.8 will be released on Steam around the same day.

Updated for Changes at June 26-30 (Steam Only).

See the last notes for "Events".

Changes

Skills

About Potency

When a skill has a potency, that is it's base damage number.

Please note, this value is used in the overall calculation of the damage of an attack - not the final value of the attack itself.

Dialogue & Cutscenes

Spelling grammar, and progression of cutscenes (CS) has been improved to the following instances:
"+" means additional dialogue has been added. "-->" shows the current dialogue, highlighting the difference from before.

Intro: CS Pearlto waking up: Pearlto: "Better get myself ready." --> "It's best that I get ready to go to the briefing."

Adventurer's Guild: Interaction with General: Asking about hunt (where to go); a spelling error has been in this dialogue: "eastenmost" --> "easternmost".

Falcon: Weapon Shop NPC: [...] "when you can just end it quickly." --> "when you can just end it quickly?"

Falcon Fields: Merchant, when asking about precautions in the cave - the help text about fleeing has been altered to: "Pressing ESC during combat brings up the Master Battle Commands menu, which allows you to flee from battle."

Beast's Rest: CS Katkin Fighting: Katkin: "You, help me kill this beast!" --> "Pearlto? So you came! Help me kill this beast!"
"Pearlto...! Wow, I am surprised to see you." --> "Regardless, Pearlto, I am surprised to see you."

Falcon: CS Elrise + Elsay joining: Elrise: "After that, the mines and we are there." --> Elrise: "After the desert, we traverse through the mines and we've reached the town."
Elsay: "Thank you so much for helping us. Our king is diagnosed with the most pecuilar illness and we do not know-" --> Now waits 60 frames before progressing onto the next text box.

Ottrea: CSTowerAppear: Kurone: "By the Gods..." --> "I'm glad we got out of that alive."
+ Cassopeia: "Didn't Pearlto lose the Pearl to the guard at Valen's gates? What was his name? Eric... I think."
+ U'vharr: "Well, he must've got it back somehow."

- And more spelling and grammar errors have been corrected!

A Note about the Dialogue Corrections

This is not the last of the dialogue changes! Constant updates will be made to the dialogue in game which, of course, will be issued to Steam first. Because this is the type of testing that will require me to go through the game with a fine tooth comb, changes may be made far between. For example, I make a correction on dialogue. I will not update the Steam version immediately upon making this correction. I will wait until more corrections are made and important updates can be developed. This is to make it less annoying to the players.

Assets

Kurone's Research Aura Book:

- Spelling has been corrected: "unsirprisingly" --> "unsurprisingly".

Opposing Forces Lore Book:

- Spelling has been corrected: "they Dawntreaders" --> "The Dawntreaders".

Sound

- Battle BGM for The Underground has changed, now seamless with the area BGM.

- Music now plays in Division of Worlds.

- The main ending area BGM has been replaced with the same music used for the alternate ending area.
